After taking the summer off, (save pizza dough and tortillas) from sourdough cooking, I've been back to cooking with it on a regular basis. I am sharing my most well loved recipes, with the hopes that you will enjoy them also.
My love of using sourdough was born during the COVID lockdown back in March. An eager recipient of a starter reputed to be 130 years old, I was so worried I'd kill it or ruin it. I spent so much time scouring the internet for care instructions and good bread recipes. King Arthur Baking Co. has a very comprehensive tutorial and some great sourdough recipes. Definitely a must read if you're new to sourdough cooking! Country Loaf by Tartaine Bakery In accompaniment to that recipe is a series of IGTVs by Jennifer Latham where she walks thru each step of Tartaine's recipe. Sourdough Biscuits by Love and Olive Oil Sourdough Pancakes by The Spruce Eats Sourdough Tortillas by Ashley Marie Farm & Bakery I've used several of Maurizio Leo's recipes, he links many of them thru his Instagram, or you can find his website here. There are so many ways to use sourdough- from english muffins and bagels to discard crackers and pizza crust, possibilities are endless. Have another recipe you'd suggest? Let me know, I'd love to try it out.
